As opposed to TV. I am cutting & pasting an email I Sent to Sean

Dear Sean:
The flick is called "What just Happened" Starring Robert Diniro & Sean Penn. I think they play themselves.
It was COLD as hell, the temp was 49. Cold for us! Thin blood and softees!
It was supposed to be the Canne film festival in Summer. The ladies in gowns were cold as hell.
It was like watching women hover over the freezer at the super market!

I called home (the shoot was close to home) asked wife to bring me 2 antique down jackets (40 yrs old) she did, I gave one to a guy I had met before. It was a life saver! We would slip them off for takes. There were propane space heaters close by. Many flocked to them between takes.
I am, hopefully, in one shot. Walking on a red carpet with 200 other guys n gals. I am supposed to be an executive. A black tie event.
It was fun having people wave at me, while dozens of Paparazzi shot photos. Felt almost real.
We began at 5:00 PM and quit at 3:30 Am. !!!!

I will nap today!
Was it fun? If the wind and cold were absent, yes, but as it was, it was a long hard chilly night.

Next week I have a speaking part. I play a 17th century Minister who has a virgin burned at the stake!
She was hard to cast.

this is a very short student film that will be submitted to film festivals, NO PAY!

No allusons here, really. All I sought was to do TV Commercials, But one needs a good agent. One cannot get an agent without belonging to SAG. The agents work on commission and with a union they can keep track and get paid. I can't blame them.
Now I have the needed vouchers to be SAG eligible. The business is fascinating

The scams are everywhere. Young people get fleeced all the time. They get told they are ideal and they can be a big star. When that's what you wanna here, it's easy to believe.
The charges are very high and it's usually for nothing!

They call them "Reels" why? I know not. When i get one we will, with Sean's help get one on here.

I must tell you about the Diniro flick. A guy called, left a message saying, "You will be in a scene with Diniro" I was, me and 199 other guys!! HA!
I am pursuing speaking roles only now. If I do a non speaking it will have to be a prominent part.

I have been doing auditions. It is like school for me. They say "thank you" and "bye", usually.
Today she said I was wonderful! Gawd i would like to believe it. I said, "How about just good?" she replied, "No, wonderful!"

It is a feature film.
An actress friend told me one should do auditions and fergetaboutit! There are a zillion reasons not to get the gig. Even if you do the audition well, your appearance may not be what they had in mind. It is not personal, if it was I'd have to crawl in a hole. Also there are many who can do it better.

I am much better than I was 6 weeks ago, but who am I to think i can compete with actors who are trained and seasoned? I can tell you... a guy with more chutzpah than brains!
I may be telling you guys more than you wanted to know

Thanks all, but "wonderful" is a bit hard to believe, really. I am aiming for good.
I am shooting my mouth off way too soon. Most auditions do not bring a gig. if it does I will be a kindly grandfather telling grandaughter that death is only a doorway to a new life... I will see her parents soon enough. Wow!
I feel good about this one I fit the part.
The pirates will have to wait.

I have since learned that CDs casting directors often say, "Very good, thank you."
But this gal said "wunneful" 2 times! As Quincy used to say, "Maybe, just maybe."

I saw an old episode a few days ago, while drugged and confined to my hospital bed.
There was a cameo of a police chief at a desk, speaking with one of the CSIs.
He looked just like you.

Nope just 3 TV things. "Curb Your Enthusiasm" "El Pael"a Spanish language series on Direct TV. Thus was my first shot as an extra. The director said.."You are mt DR," He says I will be in an ongoing role. No news yet. "Grey's Anatomy" where I sat in my PJs all day (14 hours) Also one movie called "What Just happened" with Deniro & Penn.
lots of auditions (5) i am told if you get one in 25 you did well. The last one was my best, the character was fitting.
If there is ever anything to see i am sure Sean can make it happen.

I am not at all discouraged, just seeking speaking roles. The back ground work I can get.

Speaking of CSI bit parts. I always crack up when an actor gets a part playing the disemboweled dead stiff in the coroner's office..... Jerry: How good are you at controlling your breath and playing dead?

I actually did get an offer to do that, they said you had to do very shallow breathing for a few hours. I passed. Of course, no lines LOL

I also was offerd to be in a strip club scene as an audiance member, 5 days, no pay, but a fun experience, they said! I passed.
