Rainy Days aren't bad for pictures...
«

Here are some shots I took on the Friday the 13th. It was cold, dark, rainy and ugly overall. I still managed to find a few bright spots and a different look for some Louisiana Iris pix.
I hope you like them.

The water pooling on and in the flowers makes for interesting shots.

The dark and gloom actually help saturate the colors as the shots are just at the edge of being underexposed.

The last shot is my favorite out of the group.
It is my desktop background until something better catches my eye...

P.S. Let me know what you think if you check out these shots.

Great pics Tim
I especially love the blue ones. Are these named varieties? The fifth one is incredible

Thanks Barb.
Kay, they are named varieties. I buy whatever I can get my hands on each year at garden shows. The vivid blue one is one of my faves as well. It is called Sinfonietta.

Thanks for the compliments Daisy and Ky Kim.
I'll try and put up some more pix later this evening. I have spent the last 3 hours planting new plants. Grabbing a bite for lunch now and then back outside...

Friday the 13th was a good day for you. What a beautiful collection you have! I especially love the dark velvety iris in the third photo from the end.

I think you are referring to the dark purple that shows water as shiny spots. If so that is the Black Gamecock. It is the darkest of the lilies. It is also small compared to other varieties so it works well in many areas.

Thanks Maryvonne.
They are now becoming a memory. The next thing to look forward to is July when I harvest the seed pods from crosses the bees and I attempted. It looks like I already have at least 40 that are going to set seed.
