GARDEN EXPO/ BORDINE'S CLARKSTON MI
« on: April 17, 2007, 03:56:47 AM »
Anyone in my area....

There is a garden Expo at the Bordine's in Clarkston, Mi this weekend. I went to the one in Rocjester last year and it had quite a few pond dealer/products there. At least it's a breath of spring!!

That might be a fun drive for a Saturday but we signed up for cleanup day at church.

Esther, It's probably Not worth the drive all the way from Grand Rapids. It's not that big. If you were going to be over this way, then it might be worth stopping. If you ARE going to be out this way you can stop by here!

Well, I was kind of disapointed in the expo. Not nearly as good as the one in Rochester last year. Very few pond products, nothing new or exciting.
One gorgeous pond display with trees, grasses rocks and a stream and falls. It was unbelievable for a temporary set up! If I get a chance to run back tomorrow I will take some pics of it. It was top notch.

Even more diappointing was the lack of plants available for sale. I was planning on picking up some grasses and a few hardy pond plants. There was one rack of pond plants tucked away in a back corner. If you didn't ask you may never find them. Not many perrenials even out yet.

Ooops! I completely forgot about it. I guess I didn't miss much from what you said.

I did go to HD and Lowes to get some big containers for my lotus and perhaps waterlilies. The weather is beautiful today!

dave-
really not worth the drive from canton. I'm sure you made better use of the day.

I went back this morning and took pics of the pond display by Ken worley. But even though I resized them, I can't post them. Keeps saying my file is too large.
