Teresa, did you do that too? So brave. I don't think I could do it. I don't like heights much.

Teresa - Your girls hang telephone wires in their spare time?

Mental note to self - Give up windy cold wet Sundays.

Looks like a good time was had.

Cheers,

Mike

Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?

They get it from their Grampa . . . he was a telephone lineman for a short while . . . .

No, I didn't get to do it too.  The other leader and I would have gotten to, but we were afraid the girls would run out of time.  They did two lines like that one . . . . that one had a rope that went horizontally across between the two poles and the other one had ropes hanging down from above about 8' apart that the girls held onto as they walked across the wire.  Then the girls got to do this really fun swing . . . they hung by their harnesses (M had an extra chest harness because she's so skinny they couldn't make the waist harness tight enough for the trainer to feel safe) below a padded board and were dragged up in the air about 40 feet and then let go . . . . they were so high up to start they had to use a ladder to get hooked up.

It was fun, but it was really cold . . . one of the girls came over and showed me the ice crystals that were falling on her jacket . . . .

OOOH, that looks like fun!  I didn't like heights much either (still don't) but I went to the Fire Dept. to do my volunteer time a while back and the guys were deciding to get out their rescue ropes, etc.  They hooked me up to the harnesses and got out the big engine with the ladder, extended it out to 80 feet up, and I learned to repel out of it!  I have never been so scared, but learned how to control my fear of heights that day!!   O0
