Wow!  Those are just gorgeous!  I sure love the red one in the middle of the yellow field . . . reminds me of a bit of a Livingston Taylor song . . . there are flowers in my garden, pretty ones all in a row, but my favorites are the weeds, they don't know where to go, but they know enough to grow . . . .

Great pics Dave. I'm with Teresa on the red one in the yellow field. Could be made into some sort of psychology poster - "I just gotta be me!"

Cheers,

Mike

Tip toe  {:-P;; through the tulips  {:-P;;.........that is Beautiful!

Reminds me of the Wizard of Oz in the first pic.  I know it was poppies, but remember the rainbow of colors.

We have a tulip field near us too. Not as big or as many are there are in Skagit Valley but Wooden Shoe in Woodburn is similarly gorgeous in distant photos. They are a customer of mine too. :) However, in person, I find the fields muddy and as they are farm fields not display gardens, the up close photos aren't as cool as one would think. You can't beat the distant shots though. Wow!  O0

The best display of bulbs I've ever seen is in Butchart Gardens in Vancouver BC because they are artistic and they use cover crops of flowers between the bulbs so you don't get all the bare dirt (mud) They have hundreds of thousands of them, all kinds of bulbs.  I tried to convince Bob that we needed to go again this year but didn't win that argument. We've been working on our own yard again so that is good. I thought he would lose enthusiasm since we aren't hosting a Partay this summer but he hasn't. YEA.

I bet many public gardens do great bulb displays, Jessica posted some pics from Dallas that were great too.

Tulips can be so hard to hide in the landscape when those big fat leaves die back. Other bulbs are easier. Tulips are so spectacular in mass though.......
