Beautiful spring pics, Joyce. I love pulmonaria in bloom with the two colors. Do you find the white variety of bleeding hearts as easy to grow as the pink? I tried it once and it just didn't thrive although my pink ones are doing very well.

I'm not Joyce, but I've grown both kinds. The white never got as big as the pink, and it finally died out after about 5 years, while the pink one continues on and even got large enough to divide.

For what it's worth, I have noticed that many plants that come in different colors don't seem to be as vigorous if the flowers are white. Although my white Siberian iris far outperform my blue ones. Of course, most blue flowers aren't very vigorous either. I wonder if there's any scientific evidence or reason for that?

Lovely photos Joyce. I like the dof on the bloodroot photo. I have Freakles too and love it. It was given to me my a very close friend many years ago. She passed away in May 2005 and that year it disappeared. I was sure it was gone for good. Imagine my surprise when it came back this year and is blooming beautifully again.
