Spring Fling!
« on: May 01, 2007, 11:46:16 AM »
@O@ Finally got around to cleaning up the garden and fixing the sprinkler system.  Hard work but I enjoyed it and the results so far  o(:-)

Found out the freezing weather we experienced a couple of months back killed alot of young plants and naturally trimmed the new growths of older plants.  Our dry and warm winter added to an abnormal use of the sprinklers which now require repairs here and there.  The Bearded Irises sre multiplying like crazy after 3 years of rest.

This past weekend I happened upon the Annual Spring Garden Show at South Coast Plaza/Costa Mesa.  Naturally I didn't have my camera with me but I saw lots of beautiful displays by landscapers and garden designers.  There were lots of plant vendors selling all kinds of plants.  I finally bought 2 different potted yellow flower clivias - Good Hope and Golden Dragon - they were affordable even though they only had 9 leaves each.  Next year I hope to see blooms.

Just seeing all the beautiful ideas and plants gave me the finally kick or urge to clean up my garden.  Enjoy the pics!  8)

Smile!
Annette
