In spite of the cold wet weather the garden is blooming nicely. Just hard to get out to take pictures.

Very nice close ups.
I like the speckled flowers.
They have a texture that you can almost feel.

Very cheery Maryvonne.

Are you still in the Vancouver area, or have you moved over to the island yet?

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks Tim. I hoping to get a macro lens for my camera some time soon so I can get better macro shots.

Thanks Mike,
We are still here in Surrey, but hopefully not for much longer. The property will go on the market next week and we have already had a few Realtors coming by. So keep your fingers crossed.
We were planning to move to Qualicum but have now decided Victoria would be better. So with some luck we will be there by next summer.
Right now though we are madly cleaning up, painting and doing all those odd reapairs and finishing up trims that only get done when you decide to sell. Lots of weeding in the gardens as well and of course the ponds are pea soup right now and not looking good at all.
If all goes well the next party (summer 2008) could be in Victoria possibly on a piece of waterfront property. It's all a dream right now of course but we are hoping.

With all my visits to the Vancouver and Seattle areas, I have somehow always managed to miss Victoria - now I will have the excuse to get over to the island.

Cheers,

Mike

I keep debating on buying a macro lens myself. So far I have gotten some pretty decent shots with my main lens. I just have to get as close as possible, be patient and learn to hold my breath really well.

You will have to come and visit when we get settled. There is so much to do and see in Victoria and all up the Island.

If you don't want to spend the money on a macro lens. You can get extenders for your prime lens. It's cheaper and apparently just as good. I haven't tried it myself but have seen some pretty awesome photos taken that way. I've been hinting about a macro for my birthday this summer so we will have to see if I get lucky.

Hi Maryvonne:

Beautiful photos and I wish you good luck on your selling of your house and move to Victoria island.  Let us know when in 2008, I'm ready to book a flight!!!  We want to tour Victoria, which we hear is wonderful.   We will be heading to Whistler on Dec 22 so let us know where to stop on the way.

Cheers,

Gary

Thanks Sean and Gary :)

Gary,
We are just putting the property on the market and hope to have a sale by summer. Depending on the sale we will either lease this place back for 6 months and find a new home in Victoria so we may still be here in Dec. If we are still here we would love to see you in Dec.  Victoria and Vancouver Island are very beautiful and we would love to show you around.I will keep every one posted.
