In all the years I've been ponding I've only had one bloom on a water hyacinth . . . . they are prettier in your pictures anyway . . .

I haven't done anything with them. I will plant a few in soil just like a lily.
I tried it with one last year. It tripled in size and was as dark green as a pickerel rush.

Here is the second bloom... a bit smaller than the first but I have attempted to fix that.
I planted 4 in soil with my fertilizer super mix.
So hopefully if the weather permits I will be able show you some big beautiful plants in a few weeks.

Hmmm, I've never thought about putting them in soil.  I might just have to try that.  Mine last year got absolutely huge.  I had some pics of it, but I don't have them on the pc anymore.  They were like foot in and half tall.  I had never had any get that big before.  I think I will be heading to the same place I got them.  Its a good hour or so away, but its an awesome place.

Ponds are like patato chips, ya just can't have one.
