Can you please post a pic of your entire pond/ponds?
« on: May 03, 2007, 09:23:26 AM »
I love, love seeing everyone's ponds, but rarely see entire ponds pictured here.  Often the pictures are of flowers, or fish, or just a portion of a pond.  If you wouldn't mind, could you please post some pics so I can see everyone's pond in their entirety?  I'm so nosy, but I love admiring them.   o(:-)

What a great idea!

And what a pretty pond, Bonnie!

I stepped out on the deck a little while ago to snap a pic of mine, and my 3 year old stuck a motorized vehicle on his head in the living room the minute I stepped outside.  I heard lots of screeching, it sucked in his hair, wrapping it round and round the chassis.   :o  I had to take the toy apart, and it's broken now, parts flew everywhere.

Here are my pics, my pond is a year old.

Last year just after completing it in May:

Last July:

Today, but nothing is blooming yet, and the plants aren't even all up yet:

Very pretty ponds all... Love the stone finish on your house Esther!  Here are some pics of mine from last year-not much growth here in WV yet- the ponds look kind of naked still.....Anyway, I have a small pond that overflows down a small stream into a larger pond...It is hard to get a good shot of the whole system together, but these pics should give you an idea.  And I have lots of tubs here and there too- including one actual "tub"  :)

This is an old one from 2002, the bio pond is in the back, 18 feet in back of the little dock..
I took this from an upstairs window
with my old camera. I'll have to try this shot again this summer, with my new camera.

another from 2002 with my old camera, these two are my favorites

These are from today...

Whole pond pic is a tough one. This is from the roof looking down.

This is the plant filter pond where the water begins, bubbling up between
the water hyacinth, the biofilter is about six feet behind them in the ground.
The top of the falls start here.

Here is a straight on view of the falls, from the roof.

The plants are still small, but it's early in the year...

Loritx-
That is going to be great! I love that it's where you can see and hear it. I never understand why peopl eput their pond in a back corner somewhere.
How big is the pond area? Looks good sized. Do you have others too? You said this is a new one.

Hi All,
I've been lurking on here for years and have never posted a pic of our pond.
I've finally got it close enough to complete (are they ever complete?) that I can show it off.

This is such a great idea but? with us solw dial upers it takes for ever to see the pix. And I mean for ever and My Dell isen't even 1 yet. So may I sugest to Sean that if it's possiable he change it to where our pix load up in postage stamps then we have to click on them to see the bigger pix. I know they did this in another forum I'm in just for this reason. I know it's a pain but I had to wait  and wait just to see Joyces lovely plants the other day. It's not just the picks that slow it down it's all our other great stuff we add to our signatuers and and stuff like that. I'm not trying to Bit~^y but I just don't have that much time to wait and I hate note seeing? I'm fightting with Verison and Dish net work to find out why I can't get the dsl when everyone around me can?
I'm just happier outside!

I'm feeling slow with the slow version of DSL and a six year old Mac... It depends on where the hub is for the phone line—in my limited understanding. If your neighbors have it you should be able to as well—unless your talking about the closest neighbors being 6-10 miles away...

You should be able to get relatively fast dish internet connections. My brother went that route as they were to far out in the boonies to get DSL. Cable TV offers high speed internet here as well.

Or maybe we should each limit one pix of our pond?

I know your pain about slow dialup.. My normal connection speed is under 40k.

Our phone company doesn't have high speed in this area yet.

Tried Direcway and the download speed was good but upload was slow for the price.   After only having it for a few months, the dish needed readjusted and I wasn't gonna pay the dead beat installer another $100 since I had already paid him more than that.

As far as cable, it ends about 1/4 a mile down the road.   And they won't run it any further because one side of our street is flood plain due to the creek so no houses on that side of the road! >:(-

It really is a labor of love, and I am after it every weekend. Here are some pictures from last season. I will post this years when I finish dressing it up with this years ideas  O0 I am about to stop for a short while (lots going on this month, Son graduating Family (and lots of them) converging on the house, Daughter getting married 4 days later so that is tapping the old resources for further enhancements in the short term.)  Enjoy!

Pics from last year. The first one must be a pic from early summer, maybe late May.  The second pics shows how big the impatients got in the waterfall.

Oh Bonnie, I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one way out. I'm actually only 3.4 miles from Tonasket but way up off the road. When Qwest and Verizon came threw and up graded the lines they just passed me buy cuz I'm to far away from the road. Well I pay the same price as everyone else and I keep calling them. >:(- Cabel stops just at city limitts. and I don't know what the heck Dish net work's problem is????? I still haven't been able to see all the pix just in this thread yet. I have to keep hitting refresh? $300 to get set up with the wierless satalite and then $90 a month is to steep form me right now.

I can't get a complete photo without climbing up onto the roof but this shows much of it.  There's a short stream and waterfall on the other side of the bridge and the stream goes under the bridge and flows back into the pond.
