Debbie, Raina and the rest of the family- I am so sorry to hear this.  I pray that you are blessed with peace and comfort through this horrible time.  Just try to be strong and take one day at a time, and know that we are grieving his loss with you.  God bless.

First off, let me say that this is a great place with such wonderful, caring people and I can't wait till Deb comes back and reads the messages, she will be so touched.

I've had a few people ask me for Debbie's address to send cards, etc., but I don't really want to give out her address nor would I want to post it here on the forum.  I'm trying to get it set up so that any cards and/or gifts or donations could go to one place and then forwarded to her.  I or someone else will let you know when this happens and the specifics.

Bill and Debbie had discussed funerals and he didn't want a service but he did want to be cremated and his remains will be overlooking a lake they fished at that he loved the most.  This way, she could look up and talk to him while she's fishing.  That will be done and a BBQ and fishing at the lake for the service.  Not really somewhere where flowers could be sent and that's not what he wanted.

She is doing as well as can be expected, has her good moments and bad and the house is still full of family and Raina, her daughter is still there.  There was a wonderful chaplain at the hospital with whom she talked to and she is not angry at G-d anymore, though I think she's still angry at Bill for leaving her.   The healing process will take a long time but already some things have transpired and touched Debbie since his death, so who knows what the future holds for her and the continuing chapter of her and Bill.  Don't believe in closing books, only continuing the chapters.

Will talk to her again today and keep you updated.

Hi Everyone,

Talked to Debbie today and she sounded pretty good considering what she's going through.  It's called "Pond Therapy", cleaning algae, skimmer, etc. among some other things, especially her time with her daughter.

She was getting ready to eat breakfast, said she feels like a kid again, Mom yelling "come and eat".  Going to be a very busy weekend for her, Bill's sisters are coming up and her daughter is going down to get Bekka and bring her up.  She won't have too much phone time available, so I don't expect to hear from her for a few days.

I think she's going to be ok in time. :)  Says she misses everyone and appreciates your concern.  Everyone have a nice long weekend.

Debbie, glad you stopped in, hearing from you is like seeing sunshine that has not been around for a while.  You are such a strong lady, you will get through this.  Take one day at a time, don't rush yourself.  Remember put yourself first in everything right now, people will understand.  You are so lucky to have such a loving daughter in Raina, and to have her as close as she is.  Remember also to lean on God, your family and friends for comfort and strength.  Talk to you soon. God's Blessings be with you.

Hi all. Again thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It is after 2 am and I am afraid to close my eyes again. I just kept reliving last Tues. and Wed. I had made a great move today and went into town to my work and to the bank. I was so pleased cause I did so well and now I feel worse than ever. I just keep asking the Lord to see me threw it each day. I didn't know I could hurt so bad. It is so helpful to read all the wonderful things you all say. I have putts around the pond a bit but nothing very serious. It is still black as mud and My fish are happy so so am I for now.
I'm just happier outside!

Debbie, this may sound strange but you can make grief your friend.  What you are going through, and you will get through it, will make you strong.  Someday you will look back and wonder how you ever did it, and you will look at yourself and know you did and are a better person for it. Grief is just not the emotional but the physical as well. Some people can't sleep, some can't eat.  For me I felt as though I had been kicked in the pit of my stomach. Because of the physical assault on your body and  the emotional toll, remember to rest and be kind to yourself. You have a wonderful family, and a strong faith, all of which will support you and help you.  In the long run however, it is a walk you walk alone because it was your husband and no one can know exactly how you feel.
