Because it's not one.  I threw an orchid Cactus flower into the pond.  it is a beauty. >:(- and very Lilly-like too.

I been looking at the pictures you guys post of orchids on here.. I dont remember ever seeing one in real life that I noticed but I remember a song my dad has sang all my life
" I over looked a orchid while searching for a rose" so I just presumed they were ugly flowers.  :)

Yep, looks like a tropical...   Do tropicals grow in the desert?    :o

I must say "orchid—cactus" sounds like a contradiction to me.
