to say that their (tomorrow) two year old son is being admitted to DeVos Children's Hospital right now. The doctor suspects he has a Neuroblastoma. Here's a link. It's scarey. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001408.htm#Definition

Eliana is 6 and is coming here to stay or maybe we'll be going up to their house so Ian who it 11 can continue going to school and my son and his wife won't have to worry about these two.

So needless to say, we are asking for prayer for the little guy and his parents and medical team.

Me too!!! It's always so scary when your kids are ill with anything. The level of this fear is unimaginable to me.

OK, don't totally panic, the link did say sometimes in young children it goes away on it's own and also that sometimes surgery is enough. I have 3 grown boys, I know how you feel tho.

Thoughts and prayers with you also.

Kevin came about 3:15 and brought Eliana for the night. He said the hospital still hadn't gotten Braeden in a room or let him eat because he was to have an CT scan of his chest, abdomen, and pelvis, this afternoon. Needless to say, he had been crying and screaming mightily to the point of annoying the desk people. Kevin said he had heard them call up to the floor where Braeden was to be assigned twice to ask if the bed was ready yet. So maybe it did some good.

Kevin said that there is a palpable mass just under the rib cage between the front and side.

Ian, who is 12 just called and said he was at the hospital with his mom and dad and little brother. He said that Braeden was in a room and had eaten finally. They will do some exrays shortly and then the CT scan tomorrow morning. That's all I know for now.

I pray the doctors can fix this. I'm so glad you are able to help with one or both of the the other children right now, Esther. That will be a real blessing to your son and his wife.

I;m so sorry to hear this Esther! Having a chronically ill child I know how difficult it is. Prayers with be with you, your family and the drs!

Just heard the results of the CT scan. It's not good.

Surgery is tentatively planned for tomorrow. The tumor is called a Wilm's tumor and affects the kidney. He will lose a kidney.

Oh Esther, so sorry to hear this.

Hopefully they can do the operation laproscopically ?sp? to make recovery much faster for him.
I know this has to be frightening but he will be okay. Kids heal so much faster than us old folk..

Mom had her kidney removed and in no time was back to normal and she's an old lady.. yes she knows that we call her old woman.

Due to previous surgeries they had to remove it 'the old fashioned' way and also had alot of scar tissue and had to cut a part of her rib so it was more major than normal but as far as one kidney.. everything is just fine.

My thoughts and prayers are with all.
