did I goof?
« on: May 15, 2007, 07:04:16 PM »
I bought some miracle grow mix today and I potted some pots, but after I got them potted I noticed it said flower and vegetable garden soil.  It says it isn't for pots.  Will it matter and what's the difference?

I don't know the difference, but I bet you will be just fine!
I think it's just more stuff to sell.  Yep, skeptical.

the only difference I see in the looks of it is it doesn't have the white stuff in it or very many little balls of fertilizer.

I think it will be just fine to use.  Watch your plants get extremely large this year.

The difference is going to be drainage. Potting soils are formulated for good drainage, the white stuff,
Perlite helps keep space open in the soil for air and for drainage.

Using garden soils in pots isn't recommended because they compact and don't drain well.

Putting garden soils in a pot changes their structure, even if they drain well in the garden.
