Thanks to the hosts, Dave & Frankie Ackerman, of Santa Paula California, we were treated with an enjoyable afternoon. This was a meeting of the Ventura County Koi Society.
We even had a Barber Shop Quartet for entertainment!
The home is surrounded by native , mature, Live Oaks. The photos are self explanatory.

I will do more as soon as I can get the photo resize thing cooperating. Very frustrating to be told the file is too big, go back!

Wow! I love them both!! the pictures are fabulous! The rockwork in that first pond is really something! Looks like an old quarry. LIKE IT!!

I haven't been having much luck resizing my photos either Jerry.
Downloaded the gizmo, but can't get it to work adn the kodak one doesnt' work most of the time unless I do TINY crops of pics.

The rocks in the first pond are real and man made mixed. The builder was there and gave out his card.. The owner dified us to tell the difference. I am sure i could, but I'd be proud to have them!

Those ponds were beautiful and the fish looked like they were swimming above the water. It did make me so homesick to see those huge tall orange trees, the very old cactus and the palms, none of which we have here. But thanks for posting this, great stuff Jerry.

Chris got me stoked on palms, I had some, but nothing like now! They are not usually fast growers, and many like shade, believe it or not. he invited me to an auction of the American Pam Society. yes, i bought a few. See photo.
The 2nd photo is the front of the hosts home. he is indeed a venerable palm expert. Some of these were seed from Lord Howe island! He has traveled the globe collecting seed!

We've got two Sego's growing at the end of the walkway. I love em. Had some Majestic palms but gave them to my neighbor for her sunroom.
