Just got back from the ER

The DH whacked me with a belt sander and I had to go get 6 stitches.
I was out delivering Avon today and stopped at a garage sale and got a 29 gal tank and wooden stand for $15 bucks. I stopped at petco and got a new lighted hood  for it since it had been used for turtles. When I got home I started sanding and the DH decides he is going to help me and pulls out the belt sander. Of course the belt breaks right off the bat and I unplug it and am usuing my detail sander in the curved areas. He changes the belt comes back and sees I am usuing the only plug so he gets a hook up so we can both work on it. He plugs in the belt sander and I am bending over and it took off (it is not suppost to be able to do that without pressure on the switch but it is at least 30 years old). WHACK!! Blood started pouring.
LOL, 2 hours in the ER and 6 hairline stitches later, I don't think I am gonna ask him to help me with my hobbies anymore.

I can relate!   I always say when I die it will be because my husband killed me...most likely by accident.

He was rinsing a minnow seine in the pond and called me to come help him untangle it in some weeds.   Just as I walked up, he heaved back on it, it came free, and one of the broom sticks it was hung on, smacked me in the mouth.   Chipped 4 of my teeth. :'(

DH must feel horrible.  Sounds like he was trying to be helpful.  Must have popped you pretty good.  Sounds like you don't mess around when you start on a new project.  Jump in and get it done.  Sorry you got hurt.  Sounds painful but I see you still have a good sense of humor about the whole thing.  Take Care.

Tracey, I have to admit.. when I first started reading I thought that you were abused!
So glad that isn't the case but instead another Tim the toolman.. :)

I'd bet you are SORE today.
So glad that you are okay and thank God it didn't get your eye.

Take Care of yourself and stay away from DH when he has tools in his hand! ;)

Tracey, did you actually get hit by the running sander belt :o :o :o , or did another part of the sander hit your head?

In either case, I'm glad you got patched up and I hope it heals quickly.  That had to be painful!!!

And head wounds tend to bleed more then others.  Nice it was hair-line and didn't get lower near an eye.  Ice and pain meds, hope you feel better soon.
