some new shubunkins
« on: May 20, 2007, 09:32:52 PM »
These will go well with my sarassa comets in an effort to make some nice red and black comets with long soot black fins and tails like I had about ten years ago.  Been foolin' with the koi so long now I almost forgot how beautiful they were when ya put 'em together.    Anyway it's time to put the hammer to the metal till it bends.

Gorgeous Shubs!  I have them and love those trailing fins.  My favorite is mainly white with a bright red spot on her head over her eyes.  Her body is freckled with black spots, and she has the most gorgeous white trailing fins.

I grew up in Shattuck, OK.  Our house had no A/C.  There were many hot summer nights lying in bed with the thunderstorms brewing and the windows open to catch *any* breeze.  The sheer curtains billowed with the wind.  That is what those fins remind me of....

I LOVE those speckly fish!  Just about all my numerous fantails are spotted / calico.  My excuse to buy more and more is that occasionally I loose one to birds, or "mystery" deaths.

Our water garden shop has a shubunkin that is red and white speckled... no black or orange.  it is SOOO pretty.  I REALLY want to find me one of those!
