Gary-
Your yard is beautiful! That clematis is spectacular. The wisteria is HUGE! Did you get many blooms? I got 2 this year, that's it! the late freeze must have gotten it. last year I got alot of blooms (the first time it bloomed for me).

Very pleasing Gary. I was wondering what clematis, and not sitting down had to do with each other. Looking at the pic - all in a good cause.

Now for that single malt. The ceramic mural, without my glasses, looked like a scene from "Pirates of Penzance", with the daughters playing in the cove, while the pirate ship steals in. Now I see it's a maypole. Ah well, enough of that scotch and I'm sure it could be a pirate ship again.

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks everyone.

Mike, many an evening I've thought of pirates after a few shots, its actually a wedding anversery present i gave my wife a few years ago.  my concern is how do you take it with you when we downsize?!!!

Maryvonne, I guess a lot of my shots over the year have escaped your eagle eye.  Here are a few more shots.

CoolShades, your gardens and photos are gorgeous. The mural is truly a work of art. I do hope you can take it with you... if and when you decide to downsize.

Gary, your garden and patio are fabulous. I knew the pond was before but like Maryvonne, seemed to have missed out on how great the rest of your yard is. I hate Scotch but would be happy to sip some fine Tequila with you.

Magnificent!!  My question is why downsize?!!  Lots and lots of people do it but if it's because of taking care of the yard...then what are you gonna do for fun?  And if it's too much room to clean inside, then don't!!

Oh yeah about that scotch...I'll take some on the rocks, but I swear I've never "sipped" tequila in my life!!   :teehee:   lol

Kittyzee:

The yard work has been too much, I have about 1.5 acres that has way too many beds that seem to specialize in weeds!  My next house will only be surrounded by water with a mote to get my car in!!!!!

I hear ya!  I just do what I can and leave the rest.  Occasionally I'll patrol the yard with my bottle of Round-Up and hit those pesky low-growing grass clumps that come up and I have a hard time pulling up roots and all.  I have to remember to focus on the blooms and hard work I've done and not concentrate on the weeds and things-to-do!  Your gardens are truly beautiful!

I understand. Our gardens are too much work as well and we plan to have lots of ponds and streams with a few flower beds around the ponds and as little lawn as possible.
