Latest issue of Carolina Gardener featured disappearing fountains. I said to myself, "I have a pot I could use for that!", so I assembled an old Beckett fountain pump, some refrigerator shelving, an old mortar mixing tray, some tubing and silicone II caulk, and some river rocks and dug a hole. The water runs down the sides of the pot into the mortar mixing tray below and is pumped back up through the pot. Water is kept clear with a little Clorox. Evaporation is replaced via dripper tubes attached to a clock run irrigation system.
