I am worried about my bog/lotus pond.  Can you get to much in there.. all the marginals have taken off and now the monster lotus is mixed in with it.. they are all huge.. I am worried if it will effect the lotus blooming?  I added oscomite and dont want to overfertilize.. how do you know when you need to add new??

Also I there is a mystery white flower that came up outside of but bordering the lotus pond margin.. anyone know what it is?  I reawlly like it!

Siberian pink cups are bl ooming their heads off and the cardinal plant is getting huge!

anyway. hope you enjoy

Beautiful Tink!  Everything has filled in so nicely--remember when you were taking photos of the hill and the pond-to-be?  :D  I don't know what white flower you're talking about, but one of them is a yucca I believe.  They are common up here growing anywhere, I've dug them up and replanted them in other places.  It's the one with the sharp pointy leaves and the tall, flower spike in picture #5.

You have worked hard landscaping, and should be proud of the results  O0

Tinkster, don't do anything. Leave it all just like that! Don't worry about the fertilizer, you're good for the season.

I am seeing the white flower as a Yucca too. The spikey-leaved plant with the tall sprout of white flowers.

You have Bloody Dock there, too (Rumex). Love it.

Your pond & garden looks fabulous! Love the stone.

Thanks all.... was just worried I had to much in the bog and the lotus would suffer.

The white plant I am talking about is the one in the 8th picture with the pond lilly in the background.  I wondered what it is.

Anemopsis californica - Tame Herb or Yerba Mansa

It is a bog/aquatic plant.  It does spread by stolons, so you may want to keep an eye on it.  Blooms all summer.
