Whatever happened to Eagle Eye and Bullfrog?
« on: June 07, 2007, 05:19:59 PM »
I was thinking about these two the other day and realized they hadn't posted in a very long while....anyone know why?  Maybe Eagle is riding his motorcycle but I miss his input.  And bullfrog, although new started some very interesting topics. ;)

Over the years it has always confused me how people come and go. Some that have joined and then posted a ton and been very much part of the action just disappear leaving us to wonder what the heck happened?

Others just hang out for awhile and slip away silently. Some lurk for years and never post.
Some join other forums, some move and don't have ponds, some learn what they wanted in building their pond and don't post anymore, some don't have time any more. Some change their names and you don't know it is them posting! Internet groups are fluid, people come and go. It is just the way it is.  :'(

I've wondered a lot about Limolady and Lisa Chicago Burbs, MJ, Renee King, Deb, and there was this gal whose name I just can't remember I think she lived in the Midwest, she joined AWGS (and disappeared) before all the changes at the end, she was really active. Marcile Bond is someone else I've wondered about.

You got it right LeeAnne.
I have belonged to a gym for 25 years, many friends there, but it is social there only.  The dissapear and are not heard from again.  Once in a while I will run into one at Costco!

Teresa contacted me last night.
She doesn't get on the forums much anymore evidently.

Many of the others have evidently all moved to Koiphen for good.
I don't know about Easgle Eye or bullfrog though.
I went there lase night to see what it was and many of our regulars who left during the fallout from last month are there and posting regularly.

What I don't understand though is the one person who caused a major portion of the problems here is still posting over there and still seems to know everything. Why if that one person with a bad temperament is there would anyone want to go be regularly exposed to that banal attitude.

I evidently don't get it because I much prefer the exchanges without the bickering and name calling.

Miguy, that is our aim.  Lots of us disagree, but so what?  No nastiness involved.

Our unpleasantness a while back really hurt.  I had to wonder why do all this?  As did Sean.

I like it here because it is mainly water gardening and I don't get attacked by the admin here as I do on certain koi forums. A lot of great people here as well.

I do so enjoy this place...why go anywhere else, I just don't have the time.  I'm not an expert on anything,,,I have a hole in the ground that holds water with some fish and plants.  What I learn from that is a plus in life, plus providing a habitat for my fellow earth dwellers.  I miss the others, but they must not miss me..oh well  lol

I think LeeAnne summed it up pretty well.

There is an elderly lady on another forum of which I am a member.  (boy I hope she isn't reading this...)  She too disappeared for a while and someone noted that in her last post she mentioned she had been under the weather.  I was very concerned she had passed away.....  The good news is that she had not passed away.  She was being burdened with life's difficulties and had been pulled away to attend to more important matters.

Thanks everyone, of course you all are right...so many things to do, how do we ever get it all done?  And it's okay that people just lurk, read, some post, some not.  We all have to be much busier outside these days, and so many parties--wedding receptions, graduations, birthday parties!  I had three just this weekend!  :o

Thanks for laughing with me Jen!  :D

Hi everyone!

this thread seemed like as good a place as any to make my reappearance to my favorite forum.

seems i tend to lose interest and lack the time about the time that ponding season comes to an end and the holidays start approaching. then somewhere about the time i start getting back in the pond, i start hanging out again. it's been a bit later than ussual this year - i think due to the fact i bought a new car and have been hanging out at a forum devoted to it to try and learn more there. that has pretty much eaten up what extra time and energy i've had. but lilies have started to bloom and so it seems like it's time to get ponding again. spent much of last night at work catching up on the recent threads though i'll have to do it again from home to see all the pics.

seems like my seasonal participation the last few years may have its advantages. every year i come back and there has been some big argument with bad feelings that i managed to avoid. so i still love all of you!! o(:-)

hope to have some trading material by early july when i've got a couple of other responsibilities out of the way. so i'll see you all in the pond threads real soon! o(

I think life takes some members away from time to time.
I can tell you what is up with MJ and why she no longer posts. For one, she got tired of some of the bickering going on when we still had the AWGS forum so she backed off from posting much and was lurking more. Then she found out she was diabetic and she had quite a struggle getting that under control. She just recently went back to work from being off quite awhile dealing with her health. She doesn't post on any of the forums these days as she can no longer hang out on the internet at work. She PMs me from time to time on Koiphen.

Hi Bonnie! thanks for thinking of me!

still looking for my colorado to bloom this year. hoping it made it thru the winter. i only lost a couple to the seasons (i think) but haven't gotten down in the pond to see exactly which pots are empty.

so what pix do i owe you? refresh my ailing memory. i went to take pix of my first fully opened gonnere today but found the batteries dead in my camera. i hope it is still open as nicely when i get home from work tomorrow afternoon! if not, its already got another on the way. for a plant that did nothing last year it is certainly off and running this year! and sooo beautiful!

ok, pix of something as soon as i have some  {:-P;;

Hey Mikey! it's not really 'new', just new to me. and considering the astro i replaced with it was 20 year's old, it seems brand spanking new to me!! the car needs a wash either tomorrow or weds and then i will post a whole thread with pics about it. nothing too fancy - a 2004 ford focus zx3. i've done a bit with it since buying it though and might as well wait till it looks nice and i get pics of my latest 'enhancement' to show 'er off.
