Garden photos
« on: June 07, 2007, 11:17:19 PM »
It's still cold and rainy here. I can't get anything done out there so I have time to take photos instead.  We are hoping for better weather some time soon. The tropicals are still in the greenhouse with heaters on and the hardies are just barely blooming. Here are a few from yesterday.

I just love vibrant colours in the garden. Funny, considering my favourite colour is usually grey.
Very cheery Maryvonne.

Cheers,

Mike

Lovely pics maryYvonne
When do you actually get any summer in BC?  Plants still in the greenhouse with heaters??  Goodness ...  I can't even begin to contemplate that :(
Did you ever consider a move to sunny Ireland?  :)

Actually we normally have a very long summer but for some reason the weather this year is much cooler than normal. I usually have the tropicals blooming in the outdoor ponds. I just hope it warms up quickly now so I can get them out. If not they will have to stay in the greenhouse.
Ireland sounds wonderful. My family is from Brittany in France. I understand Ireland is fairly similar climate wise to that area.

Thanks you Jerry, Mikey and Mike W. The sun is out already today so I won't be boring you with more photos. I love all flowers but in this climate I find the vibrantly coloured ones do best. The pastels tend to fade quickly and white ends up looking terrible in the rain. They usually turn rusty, so no white gardens for me even though I like the idea.

Lovely photos.

The sky is so grey, I like bright colors best. I have 'Bowl of Beauty' but it is new and hasn't flowered. I can't seem to keep Corydalis alive. I've killed six or seven of them. I love them.

maryvonne,

Great shots... dreary days really make the colors pop don't they?

Thanks Tim and Miguynmkoi,
I do get my best garden shots on rainy days. The rain drops add a nice touch to the photos. I love the smell of the wet garden especially after a hot spell and it's just plain fun running out there in between showers to get the photos. Sometimes if I'm really lucky I even get a ray of sunshine between the showers. Now that's a bonus!
