Where is Vista at?
« on: June 09, 2007, 08:20:25 AM »
I'll soon be back on the hunt for a new computer system and probably will still be going with Vista.  Since I have been pre-occupied with remodeling and moving, though, I haven't been keep tabs on the new O/S.  What are the current issues with it?  Has there been an service packs yet.  What can people who are using it regularily tell me about it?  I was thinking of getting the Premimum Home version.

I also wonder if some of my existing 16 bit software will run.  Can it manage older versions of Photoshop and programs like that?  I won't have the money to upgrade everything AND software to boot.  I'll probably need Office and Quicken as the "must have", but hope to be able to still use Photoshop and my older Corel Draw for a bit yet.  I really don't need the newer versions for what I do.

I was hoping to get a deal on a system with Windows XP but looks like I'm a bit too late. Our desktop is old and cranky, but I don't want to deal with new software/printers/scanners like when I upgraded from Windows 95 to XP.

Sheila - this is a system that I'd consider, if I hadn't just bought one!

Hope the link works!

Mom just bought a desktop with Vista. I personally didn't like it.

I just got a DELL with Vista! Darn I have a lot to learn.  My ghru was not cheap.
My accountant put in Quicken in my old comp.  I transferred, but need to get the program to make it run Grrrr.
How do I get "WORD" back?
This thing is overwhelming at this point.  I am better at gardening!

I have read such bad news about Vista that I went with XP on my new computer.
