They should be charged already but may have lost some power due to shelf life.

Jerry,
I've always been told that they should be fully (18 - 24 hours) charged before first use. Here's a tips link from the place I order my batteries.

yeah LeeAnne but do you unwrap them before charging?

So help me the wrap was perfect and not noticed by these eyes.  Talk about feeling dumb!

They charged just fine!

Jerry,
"You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din!" ... It takes a big man to admit some of the dumb things we all do now and then.
I had to grin at your admission re: unwrapping ... it is definately something I could see myself doing. Just be glad that you are old enough (as am I) to blame it on failing eyesight ... that's my second most used excuse, right behind "old timer's" disease!

Believe me John I hated to admit it, but it is so funny!  The wrapping was perfect!

My wife had cataract surgery recently, her comment was "Everyone looks older!" @O@ @O@

I had to go and look it up again as I had not read it in MANY MANY years ... though you abbreviated it a bit, it still gives me goose-bumps!  :)

Even though I never expected to have a "literary moment" at american ponders,  ;D   I'll close with the first line and last stanza of another.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
 ...
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!

Sure doesn't fit in "Techno Talk", does it!

And my mom said the same thing as your wife when she had her cataract surgery ... she was 81 at the time.

Ok now a quiz, ready?  Who played Gunga Din in the movie of the same name.
Who else starred in the same flick?

Now, I hang my head in shame ... I should have looked it up BEFORE I put my foot in my mouth ...

my first thought said "Errol Flynn" starred and that's what I originally wrote ... then I looked it up and blushed ...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0031398/

I NEVER would have come up with Sam Jaffe ... tho after I looked it up, I can see him in costume (little as it was ... *grin*)

Ed Cianelli an Italian, played an indian priest/ Guruh,  And Sam Jaffe who eventually played Dr. Zorba  and became more well known, played  Gunga Din.  Sam was Jewish.

You do great John,  Now tell me, who is this and what movie is the photo from. What was his line that lived on?    Hint, Bobby Blake was a young boy in the film
