Thanks every one. I highly recommend Escarboucle for any one that likes bright colour in their garden. It really stands out from the crowd. Almost Black has an incredibly heavy scent that perfumes the garden nicely. Both are favourites here. Now I need Gonnere for contrast. I'm still waiting on Mayla, Texas Dawn, Colorado and Joey Tomocik to start blooming. I hope to try hybridizing some of these this year, but haven't decided what I'm looking for yet. Any one have ideas? I'm not allowed any new lilies this year either but I think I might sneak in Gonnere. Pete would never notice that would he?

Thanks for the kind comments!

Nice photos Maryvonne.  I have often wanted Escarboucle or Wow due to the bright red.

Lilies in the kitchen sink?  ;D Hadn't thought of that one yet! Bonus - an excuse to go out to dinner!  lol

I am drowning in new lilies too, mostly thanks to some awesome swaps here. Need to get the new tropical pond built ASAP. Hopefully this weekend. I have an Almost Black I got this spring - can't wait to see it bloom!

Love your Almost Black - can't wait till mine blooms o(:-)  I think that Gonnere would be the perfect addition to your collection. What's one more lily? :)

Gary

I would love to be able to give you a piece of Escarboucle, Gary but don't want to break any import laws. It is a very pretty lily that starts off a bright pink-red and just gets brighter every day and ends up a very bright red, not quite as bright as my photo. I had left my camera settings on a setting that is too saturated for flower photos and forgot to change it back to my normal settings. Thanks for you comments.

Thanks for the compliment.
My Escarboucle is almost ready to divide and I would love to trade pieces but can only do so legally here in Canada. It's a shame we can't trade across the border. I end up buying most my lilies at a very high price but "C'est la vie"!

I hope you find one some time soon.
