« on: June 15, 2007, 03:05:39 AM »
long before we knew the actual name of columbine, we nicknamed it 'fairy flowers' when we would see it growing wild in the Hocking Hills area of Ohio. our fairy flowers gby the pond are just starting to bloom nicely and i thought i would share them. such a beautiful flower that grows almost anywhere!!

I have seeds of cobalt blue columbines going to waste all over my yard. If anyone wants some, PM me.

I love them and hate to see them wasted.

I love them, and I do think Fairy Flowers is a much more befitting name, BTW. ;)
Some grow wild up here that are a gorgeous delicate pink; haven't seen any yet this year though.

i think the fact that they grow equally well wild and in the yard is one of the things that makes them so especially attractive - it's like having the best part of the woods in your own backyard!!

of course i pm'd you LeeAnne  :o
