Love the fish, and I'll bet that boy is quite a helper  :)  I have a 5 year old who LOVES to help his Daddy work outside with the pond and plants- and he really does help  :)  Now my 7 year old.......he's more of a lay and watch tv or play video games kind of guy  ::)

Oh I saw those fish at Joann's but didn't give in and buy them. I picked them up and thought of turning it into a spitter. I think it would work. They had a 50% off sale going.

Cute pictures! I love your landscaping.

 I have a 5 yo boy too.  O0
I think it's amazing how much help they can be... until they take a silly pill and go into "goof" mode.  :D It's a boy thing.

I saw them at JoAnn's and almost bought one too.... Same 50% off sale here  :D
After I bought the planters for my new Hen n' Chicks (and snapped up some windchimes on sale too)- I thought I better pass up the cool fishy...   {:-P;;

He looks so nice at your place, I wish I'd bought him after all! maybe next week...   8)

i actually turned a fish just like that one into a spitter a few years ago.  basically drilled the mouth and snaked a tube up through. if i was doing one today i might use one of those barb adapters and epoxy it in for strength but nonetheless very doable

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but on the subject of fish statues I found a really nice one at Home Depot of an Oranda, you can see it on my pond home page.

It's been sitting there for over a year, even in the so cal sun (100º+ temps) and still looks good.  I think it's about 10 or 12 bucks.
