I never thought I would say this about a white lily but this one is quickly becoming one of my most favorites. I have no idea what it is but it has huge pads and blooms and it smells wonderful. I took these shot on Saturday and the bloom was awesome.

Oh that is beautiful and you took some nice shots too.  I know Louann has that one, maybe she'll see this and let us know what it is?

Very nice pictures.

Aaahhhhh.... head for the hills...

You have the azolla monster. LOL

That is a nonstop pest in a few of my little buckets and one pool with marginals.

miguynmkoi,
In case I was misunderstood... azolla is that little floating organism below the lilies. It grows from microscopic spores(I think). I know that I have not been able to totally eradicate it here for 2 years now. I kill it all and sooner or later it comes back and creates a 2" thick carpet that will cover a 5' kiddie pool in less than 3 weeks.
Now you know why I call it a monster.

Up north it is killed by the harsh winters but like mosquitoes, we can never really kill it here in Houston.

LOL, Azolla monster. ;D I actually like it, I think it looks cool. I do have to scoop it out of my stock tanks, barrels and kiddie pools nearly everyday but I don't really mind. I'm not sure why but I have one tank that it will multiply and cover the entire surface daily. Must be just the right condition for it. ::) It usually overwinters for me even though I have freezing temps. Pieces that are tucked in around the potted marginals usually survive at the bottom of the tanks and it comes back every spring once I pull them back up.

O0 very nice Shanna!! as you already know i've fallen quite in love with this 'unkown' and these pics are beautiful! i really think you should call it 'dinnerware'  ;D

as for fairy moss (azolla), i love the stuff. the fish love it and keep it pretty cleared off the surface of the pond but i have plenty growing in tubs that i do have to scoop out every now and then. no biggie as it's hardly the only thing i need to do to maintain my tubs. in fact i currently have a couple of tubs with nothing but fairy moss and duckweed and i think they have a certain appeal all their own! sometimes i throw a handful or so into the pond and the fish will have cleared that out in a couple of days.

it also makes a nice mulch  ;)

Very nice looking lily. I love white liles. I also love having azzola. I keep it in a small pool to feed the Koi they love it.

Shanna I cant find that lily anywhere on Victoria. It almost looks like a white Lilypons/

I know!! Actually, its funny you mention that. I had bought Lilypons from Rebekah last spring. When it bloomed it was this lily, obviously not Lilypons. She sent me a replacement but then it disappeared in my busted kiddie pool catastrophe.

I dont think so but it does kind of look like white 1000 petals by slocum. Now this is not a great pic but the petals look more like it than they do the odorata

maybe you could email a pic to the slocum nursery and they could tell you what it is for sure since that is where Rebekah got them from.

I do have azolla monster although they call it fairy moss here!  :D  Looks like I have kept it tame in the side pots by feeding it to my koi and goldies, yummm  o(

Shanna, whatever it is, it's pretty but I don't think it's Nymphaea Odorata, the petals on yours look more rounded.

Just call it 'Shanna's White', 'Desert Ponder', LOL..

thedahlialama suggested it should be called "Dinnerware." lol The pads are about as large as dinner plates and the blooms are about as large as salad bowls. lol

Then it's definately not N. Odorata because it's a smaller variety.

Spread is 3-4 ft.
Blooms from 3-4"   even though I read they can sometimes be as small as 2"
Pads are usually around 6-7", so I guess that would be almost be a small dinner plate.

The pads on this one are about 8 to 10 inches and the blooms are at least 6 to 7 inches.

That's interesting. Now I'm not sure what my white lily is. I bought it at Home Depot several years ago as odorata and here's my photo.

What is odd about this unknown white is how different the flowers can be from one bloom to the next. The plant bloomed yesterday and the bloom is half the size the others were and doesn't look like the other blooms. I had to check to make sure it was on the same plant! Strange!

Maryvonne....your picture almost looks like an Alba to me.

I'm beginning to think it's alba too. Oh well, fortunately it's the only big box store lily I have. The others are from reputable nurseries and properly named.
Yours is quite a mystery though especially if it changes that much from one bloom to the next. I hope you can identify it and if not it's a very pretty unnamed.
