the 'i went shopping' thread
« on: June 18, 2007, 08:30:43 PM »
well, saturday morning on my way home from nightshift i had to go to HD for some lithium batteries for my cordless mouse. of course i couldn't help but enter thru the garden area (batteries are at opposite end of store  {:-P;; ).

i thought i did pretty good - only about $80 worth of plants. i got 3 beautiful asiatic lilies, 3 daylilies, a bicolor double bloom impatiens, a mini rose and a dwarf papyrus. thought i'd show you the pretty ones and let this thread be for anyone to show off their newfound prizes!!

the asiatics - red, orange and red w/orange

Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?

^^^ lol lol lol

i'm guessing you didn't realize they sell batteries either!!   ::)

i certainly did get a great haul for the price! they are some much wanted color around here now that the spring bulbs are all gone and i'm waiting on the dahlias and crocus.

i can't speak for all HD's, but i have found that the best stuff is found early in the morning and in the back where they place new arrivals that haven't yet been debagged or plainly priced. or on those floating carts that they fill with all the stuff that doesn't have a regular spot!

and yes - i know it's an addiction!! :D

emm - you are SOOOO right!! it would have been much cheaper to have gone to Best Buys (just a half block further away) and spend an extra $10 to $15 over what i paid for the lithiums and get rechargables.

but that wouldn't have been near as much fun now, would it?   :really:
