I was busy working in the ponds today when I realized that Rose Arey was looking very pretty. There was a skeleton on a petal left by a dragonfly that had hatched earlier that day. As I was taking the photos a tiny blue dragonfly arrived and did it's thing. Kind of neat little photo and I thought some of you might enjoy it too.

Very cool, Maryvonne!
My grandson and I watched a dragonfly laying eggs in my pond one day and it was a neat thing to watch. Of course, I was just hoping that each and every one of those eggs would hatch to keep down the mosquito population. Hmmmmm....I wonder if you can buy extra dragonflies???

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it too. The yard is full of dragonflies of all shapes, colours and size. I have been trying to get photos of them for some time but this is the only good one so far.

Excellent shot! It's one I would love to see put in a calendar! Maybe a "bugs and blooms" one, or even a dragonfly calendar.

Thanks Louis, Monica and Thepitclub. I don't know about a calender but I have started printing greetings cards, mainly because I forget to buy them and it's easier to just print one up and send it. People seem to like them.

That's a very cool photo Maryvonne. One of my favourite things about our pond is watching all the insects, birds and other critters that are attracted to it. The greeting card idea is a good one, you've taken many lovely photos. emm
