Here's a couple pictures I took recently.

You can see one of the
Hifin Sharks in the very
center of the photo at
the bottom of the pond

thanks....I'm real happy with the clarity!

yeah, here's a pic when I first brought him home...

...and macking on some algae.

People say they stay in the deep end of the pond, but I catch them swimming around with the wakins in the shallow end all the time, usually in the late afternoon/evening hours.  I've even foudn a couple in the skimmer basket from time to time.

Wow!  I probably saw one in a pet store.  Do Hi-fins do the catfish thing or are they just good pets?  Maybe he thinks he's one of the koi or goldies.  I have a goldie, one time turtle feeder, who survived and thought she was a turtle for about 6 months.  Rescued her and she swims with the pond babes (Koi & goldies) now  :D

Hmmm...not sure about the "catfish thing"!   :)  But they are very calm and get along great with other fish.  I've seen the koi push right through them to get to food and they just tolerate whatever comes their way.  I was concerned about the water temps but they've been through two winters now so they're doing well.  Many people keep them in aquariums from what I've read.

I've seen a couple 10 inch Hifins and they still had that same shape and hi dorsal fin, but they do lose it when they get older and much larger.  I've heard of them getting to be over 30 inches, but in a pond like mine they'd probably not get that big.  They are slow growers, too.

Nice pics- beautiful water! It took me a minute to find the Hi-fin in the pic, but I finally spotted him. Looks like a pleco from that angle. :) I still plan to acquire one after I do some expanding. I did give away a few large comets when I learned how crowed my pond was. But I just can't part with any of my koi, even though I know my pond is going to be too small soon. SIGH...
My lucky wakin is still in the house in my tank because I am too scared to put him in the pond yet. He's growing fast though, so maybe in a week or so I'll get the nerve up to finally let him out.  ;)

here are some more pics of the hifins...they get along great with the other fish...wakin, shubbies and koi.

They have a very thin body when viewed from the top, too.

Your fish (and pond) are beautiful, love the sharks too.  I saw wakin at my pond store a couple of weeks ago, first time they had them.  I would love to have some, but I'm afraid they would be frog bait in my pond.  I lost my shubunkins to a bull frog, but none of the comets.  May be that the comets are much faster, and shubbies and wakin are my pokey and not as streamlined, but hate to buy them just to feed a frog.. {nono}
