New multi petal Tropical Hybrid
« on: June 28, 2007, 06:24:45 PM »
Most of my new hybrids for this year were lunch for some deer.
Some I had inside the greenhouse and those are saved.

Here is one that is rather nice. i counted 41 petals. the pads are mottled maroon on green. plant is big, pads are about 13 inches long and the bloom is about 5 - 6 inches wide. this is a first day bloom.

GREAT*** Hybrid Lou.
If and when you name it and propagate it I would like to be the 1st in line to buy one.
Any chance it is a vip to speed up the process???
Once again... beautiful.

Beautiful lily. Is one of it's parents Rasberry sorbet by any chance? I still love that lily too.

Maryvonne

hi maryvonne,

yes raspberry sorbet was the pod parent. the donor was a multi pink from last year. this one picks up some of the raspberry colors.

Louis, I agree with everyone else, that is sure a beautiful lily!  I wonder how you count the number of petals?  I'd never be able to keep track unless I pulled them bloom apart.   :o  emm

hi emm,

thats a good question.

what i do is select the pen tool in my graphic program and make a dot on each petal and count as i go.

i then delete the dots,
