Tropicals are blooming
« on: June 29, 2007, 11:03:17 AM »
The tropicals have started blooming again. Midnight had one bloom in May and Sandra Lyn had a couple buds but the weather turned cold and I had forgotten to fertilize them so they stalled a bit, but they are doing very well now and reblooming. Sandra Lyn produced two tubers for me. Two of these plants bloomed this morning. One is quite a bit paler than the other. I find that the blooms are paler in the greenhouse and can't wait for the temp to come up in the outdoor ponds to get them out. So here are todays  blooms, two Sandra Lyns and Midnight.

The first Sandra Lyn is pinker than normal

This one is just pale.

Midnight rarely opens completely for me.

It's so nice to see them blooming again. It's taken much longer this year and I am so happy to see them.

First time I've ever seen a Sandra Lyn and it is beautiful. I like it better than Green Smoke.

Thanks every one. There are my two favourite tropicals at the moment. I forgot to mention that these blooms are very small only about 3" accross. They look so cute.
