Mosquito Control
« on: June 30, 2007, 07:41:31 AM »
In Florida, I purchased mosquito dunks a Lowes, but have not been able to find them here. I have heard Texas regulates pest control a bit more than other states. Anyway, I'm looking at these other products from AZPonds and wondered if anyone has used any of them. I like the idea of a dissolvable powder or sprinkles vs. an ugly mosquito dunk.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Where do you get mosquito fish? Bait stores? I'd much prefer that route if I had a supplier!

State funded Vector Control give away mosquito fish here.  There may be some place like tht near you, especially if Texas has regulation rules.  Nothing better than free!

I can put some in a bucket on the front porch & you can pick them up anytime today.  Just transfer them to your own container & leave the bucket.  I'm a bucket hoarder  :o

I've got them waiting on the porch for you.

Me too. I've got a 5 gal bucket out front near the pond where I put the mosquito fish I can catch, trying to keep the population down... Stop by, take 'em all... You can have the bucket too!

Last year I gave them to the vector control folks, but they trashed the pond some when they caught them. I decided this year I'd catch them myself.

The cheapest fish at a pet store here are the rosy red minnows or the feeder goldfish ~12 cents each...

Mosquito Dunks work much better than the sprinkles or little packets. I buy them at Home Depot.
