Beware Tink... now you're really in trouble.  Now you have to make room for both hardies and tropicals!

Red Flare is a pretty one.. I have one that I got from Bonnie (bunny) too! :)

You are in for a treat, this was my first season of tropicals...so far so good except my Siam's are taking their time. My Red Flare hasn't bloomed yet either but it's been a fun adventure and a little different from hardies. I already posted this in a different section but besides my Miami Rose this is my 2nd tropical to bloom, Albert Greenberg.

That is beautiful!  I will just die if she dont winter over.  come fall maybe you can give me some tippers on what I need to do.

I am hoping she will solve another problem I have.. my pond is almost deep shade after 3 in the evening and when I have company over none of the lilies are ever open. I am hoping she will open in the evenings for me.

Your's will look like this .
I follow the instructions that Sean posted somewhere in here... ;D...only ,I put all my tuber's in plastic bags with name tag's .Then floated them in rubbermaid tub's with a blue grow light on them.
U need to read how Sean does it .
It worked for me . I started out last fall with..around 22 tropical w.lilies & by Spring I had over 50!

I have no idea what it will do in shade , maybe it will bloom eairler ?

Tinkster, Night blooming lilies are the EASIEST to overwinter! Don't worry about that at all. Yours will be fine. Do you have an ordinary aquarium with a light?  Many pet shops sell night bloomers for folks to keep in their aquariums full- time. And they do fine. They send up small, triangular, "winter" pads that never reach the surface.

As long as they get lots of sunshine in your pond, shade after 3 pm shouldn't harm them too much.

Congrats on your 1st Trop  @O@  I had the Queen of Siam for a few years but this year I went all out and added a whopping 9 more. Enzo and Kat trusted me with their babes.  I hope I can raise these babes to adulthood  :o 8) and on to sharehood  ;)

So Karen, I should be able to over winter a night bloomer pretty easliy? Tammie sent me one a couple years ago but I didn't try overwintering it because I didn't think I had accomodations for it.
Most of our 'pond sitting' is in the evenings when hubby is home from work. It would be nice to have one again. He rarely sees a lily bloom unless we are lucky enough to have one open during the weekend.
I just bought solar spot lights today on clearance. They would be perfect for lighting up a night bloomer, right??
Now you've done it. Although with it being mid July It would probably make more sense to wait until next year, right?

ROFL cathy.. your like me.. looking to blame our addiction on someone else... hey if I can winter over you can to.. we can try it together :)

Karen.  My pond gets full daybreak till about 3ish full sun.  then total shade, which all my hardies seem to love.. they are prolific bloomers.  I do have a huge aquarium that is sitting empty.. never thought about that as wintering them over.. I might be perfect

This is my first year trying tropicals. I fear its going to be a challenge here. I got several baby trops last fall and I overwintered them in my betta tanks. Three of them survived so I planted them and put them out about 3 weeks ago. Only one of them is sending up pads, the other two are just sitting there. There is only about 7 solid weeks of lily time left here so I'm apprehensive that the trops will develop enough to even bloom. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. A member on another forum sent me a baby Eurayle Ferox and it didn't even survive. Water temps just fluctuate too much here.
Good luck with your Red Flare Tink. :)
