Ipod MP3 Question
« on: July 14, 2007, 10:38:51 PM »
Why don't the Ipods & MP3s have AM/FM?

I want my own music lists AND I want to be able to listen to talk radio on my AM stations AND I want to listen to FM.  I can find music players that have FM but not FM & AM.

I've checked online with Frys, Circuit City and Radio Shack without success, so I'm assuming there isn't anything out there with AM....

AM seems to be a dirty word with these guys.  If it had am it would work on the treadmill at the gym.  My radio will not.  I do use a CD player.
Let me know if you ever find one.

Mikey, if you go to an itunes store online they should have a device to attach to your ipod to receive FM and possibly AM.  Check out the price and then go online with the proper name for the device and you may find something less pricey and less Apples.

Annette: I just checked and they too only have the FM.  If talk radio was on FM then I'd be okay but three of the talk radio stations I enjoy are on AM :P

Radio Shack has AM/FM headphones that can plug into an iPod but the headphones appear rather bulky and cover the entire ear.  Plus, I switch radio stations a lot during commercials and with the controls on my ear I won't be able to see what I'm doing......  I generally listen to music/talk when I'm out walking and those headphones will likely be uncomfortable, i.e., hot and sweaty.....

The wife often stays in bed because Doug is so interesting.  He knows history too.

Your other option is downloading a podcast from your favorite broadcaster to itunes, then download it onto your ipod, I know most of the people on KFI upload their daily shows, I know it is not the best solution, but just another option, I have done this for a handfull of Bill O'reily shows that I wanted to listen to.
