Pink Flamingo is a gorgeous lily--I sure hope mine will bloom before the season is over.

There is never enough room for all of the water lilies that I want ;-)

Myra,
This will be the 1st winter for it.
I built a greenhouse last year because I had bought about 20 new varieties throughout the year and did not want to risk losing them.
Some of them I had been trying to acquire for about 3 years.
I bought extras of all of Craig's new ones so that I can assure that I won't lose them altogether.
So far I have bought at least a dozen new varieties this year... going to be awful tight in the greenhouse. LOL.
Kat,
I had lilies blooming until Dec last year. You get snow and ice that never quite makes it here... it usually stops at Huntsville.
I would think that you should be able to get blooms through October for sure and that gives you 3 months to get it up to blooming.
You know a lot about what you are doing so I have no doubt that in the near future I will see pix posted by you. O0

AND there are more buds in the picture!  Beautiful petals and color of pink.  Very nice lily!

You say you need to over winter your babes in the winter.  Does it get that cold in part of Texas?

We do dip into the 20s and occassionally lower. With some of my lilies in the high retail price range I just couldn't take the chance.
I usually lose about 10 or so each winter. The problem is we are cold in Jan, we warm up in early Feb. plants start to come out of dormancy and then late Feb and early March we get hammered with very cold again as a reminder that Mother Nature is the boss. Weak plants that have started growing out sometimes aren't strong enough to fight back from dormancy twice.
We have weird weather too. It can be in the 80's at Christmas and New Years and a week later it is in the 20's or 30's Sixty degree swings in temps from one day to the next is not unusual at all here.

Wow that is quite a swing in temps.  I thought our weather did a big swing but nowhere near to yours.  We have desert climate.  Cold winter nights mostly into the upper 40's or lower 50's and day time no colder than 50's.  This past winter was colder than most in the past that I can remember but my pond never froze or got cold enough to stop the lilies showing small pad growth.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos of your excellent collection of lilies.

Like you Kim, I really like this lily. I'll cross my fingers for your success but you know what you are doing so I might just be tying my fingers in knots for the heck of it as I have no doubt you will see beautiful blooms of your own.
