Several blooms brightened my ponds over the past week...
« on: August 24, 2007, 10:32:47 AM »
Here are some blooms that I was blessed with over the past week.

Berit Strawn-  This one opened its first two blooms for me this week.  Berit was a new one for me and I really love it!

Perry's Baby Red also bloomed for the first time.  I love the very cup-shaped petals.

Next is my Wal-Mart "Fabiola".... Do you think this is actually a Fabiola??  It looks similar to some pictures of Fabiola I have seen, but mostly not.  It is pretty either way, and different from anything else I have.

Joanne Pring

Pink Grapefruit- I am loving the numerous HUGE blooms on this one...

Mangkala Ubol

Gonnere

Perry's Orange Sunset

Gloriosa is appreciating the warm sunny location of my newer lily pond.

Carolina Queen's second bloom

The lilies in the bathtub.  Just one month ago this was a mess of hail-beaten lily pads.... how fast they replaced the destroyed pads with new huge lush pads is amazing....

Thanks for looking!  It looks like the coming week is going to greet me with much anticipated blooms on Pamela and Perry's Double Yellow  @O@

Thanks  :)  Yeah- that is an old clawfoot bathtub- I thought everyone here had already seen it.  Here is a better overall shot of it from a couple of weeks ago when Colorado and Almost Black were blooming in it...

Ooooh la la, they're beautiful.  Lots and lots of happy colorful blooms.  However, you have made me want to add to my wishlist Mangkala Ubol, I really like that bloom.  Love your bathtub.

Absolutely gorgeous, Joey!! O0 @O@
Your bathtub is looking wonderful. I would like to get my hands on one but they go for big bucks around here. ::)
Your Walmart lily looks like Fabiola (Pink Beauty) to me. I have found that the flowers can be lighter sometimes than others. One year the flowers on mine were very dark pink. This year they are rather light.
Here is a few pics.
This is one from just the other day.

This is last year.

Fantastic pictures, you have three lilies there on my wish list, Pink Grapefruit, Gonnere and Mangkala Ubol.  I love the bath tub, how many lilies do you have in there????

Hey joeyb

I may have seen that tub before here but it looks....marvelous.  The lilies obviously love it, they look so good.  Wishing I could find a tub but wouldn't my HOA love that in my front yard :D  {nono}

Lovely photos Joey. Your Lotus is gorgeous. I'm still trying to grow one of those, but so far no luck. I really like Gonerre, Pink Grapefruit and MU. Thanks for brightening up my day. My lilies are taking a break now. I need to feed them again.

Thank you everyone for the kind compliments!

Shanna- Thanks for posting pics of your Fabiola... It does look similar to mine.

Marla-  I have 6 lilies in the bathtub, and it is full up!  In it right now are Colorado, Pink Peony, Gladstone, Almost Black, Perry's Orange Sunset, and Mangkala Ubol.

Miguynmykoi-  I absolutely love my bathtub.  I would have 20 of them if I could  :D  They are at the perfect height for viewing, smelling, photographing, etc.  The depth is perfect and makes for easy fertilizing, pruning etc.  And the drain makes for ease of water change/cleaning out mulm.  And because the water warms up quickly, the lilies grow faster in it in the spring than those in the pond.  In the winter I just drain it and leave it empty with the drain open so that rain and snow just drains out.  I like low maintenance!   :)

Marie-  Do you not have Mangkala Ubol??  If not, you will have to trade me something for it next year  ;)

Thanks again everyone  :)
Joey

Nice Photos Joey.

I like the bath tube arrangement, dos your significant other force you to climb in with them to get clean lol.  My wife always yells about  my dirty feet from working in the ponds.
