Hi Myra,

The first bloom photo is a viviparous hardy waterlily bloom, fairly common in hardy lilies with Colonel A.J. Welch in their background. Many yellow and peach hardies have this line and are mildly viviparous in the bloom.

As for Lavender Lace, created by my good friend Rich Sacher in New Orleans, it's a bit of a weed, each pad will create a new plant easily. You will soon be over run with them.

Cheers,
Sean

Fabulous photos of your vivips.  They look so healthy.  I just lost most of mine to hot weather mush.

Looks like someone is going to get a lot of trades!!  Or sells!!

Your viviparous bloom should make a new blooming plant before the peduncle (flower stem) decomposes.
You can still divide the tuber to make additional plants as well.

Well, that answers my question.  ;D I realized over the weekend there was several vips on my Lavender Lace. I didn't know it was one to vip. :)

Barbara Dobbins is a hardy that can have plants on the bloom. Like your first picture has.
