Looks normal to me.  It simply has outgrown its pot and needs cutting back leaving some roots for the growing tip.  I'm not sure of the best time to repot in your zone.  I tend to do my repotting in the early spring.

Thanks again Mikey, my plan was to just repot this one ... at least I do know what this one is .. Gloire du Temple sur Lot'...  it did seen to out grow its pot much quicker that any thing else I have.. I bought several lilies at the end of the season last year... this was one and it is the only one that out grew the pot like this ... hopefully there will be blooms next year... I chose to start repotting now as I think it will be easier than in the spring

That's one healthy lily.  Like Mike says and I think it would be alright in your zone to divide you lily and re-pot each piece into their own pot.  Make sure you have lots of root growth with each piece you separate. 

Sounds like next year you'll be in the market to trade or sell!
