I have no idea what kind of beans they are.
Jamie got them through her scholastic book club as a growing kit with a secret message lasered onto the cotyledons of the bean sprout. I am hoping for mature pods with beans I can share with all of you but so far, no signs of the beans swelling in the pods, which leads me to believe that they are FARRRR from mature. Kind of scary...cuz they are HUGE already!
Teresa, I though for sure Jeanette was gonna beat out Citrina, cuz there are so many FAT buds on Jeanette. I think maybe tomorrow one may finally open, since today was so warm...in fact pretty darn hot...83*! We've been transplanting lots of shrubs and trees this weekend into those new beds Bill made me a few weeks ago. They are almost filled up.
Just a few more things to move, once it gets a bit cooler, I'll move a few of the larger specimens.
Especially the weeping variegated white pine.
NONE of my Caerula have bloomed yet...how freakin' weird is that?
Oh, and Citrina is only 3' tall!
By the way, I started the Dicentra scandens fron a seed packet I bought at Agway over 5 years ago. Just sprinkled the whole packet along the back of the pondsai, didn't even cover with soil. There were only 5 seeds in the packet and 2 seeds germinated right next to each other. I might have pulled the other seedlings as weeds.
It's making LOTS of little bitty pods that look like beans...so I will be harvesting seeds this year. AND....it is perennial...down to a zone 5/6. Blooms in deep shade, and can take a few hours of sunshine, but prefers part shade to full shade. Dies back all the way to the ground every year. So hopefully I'll have seeds to share.
Steve, isn't that Viola so perfect? It's just a little seedling and blooming already.
Was so cute with the morning dew on it.
