Mikey, thanks for your suggestions! Actually, I finally got smart and posted in a "Cactus Forum". And I have gotten an offer for a trade. So, hopefully, I will be able to get the cactus before the snow flies. We already have fresh snow on the mountain tops. YUK!

Actually, I am looking for one that will be hardy to zone 5. because I live in northwestern Montana. I don't think one native to N.C. would be quite tough enough.
I already do have one that blooms yellow flowers and is hardy to zone 4. It is a low grower, AND spineless, as is the pink flowered O. Basilaris that I'm looking for. I have four dogs and lots of grandkids. So don't want one that is going to tear up the kids and critters.
