That's the first time I've seen a papaya plant.
What type of papaya is it? How did you grow it from seed?
You must use a really good fertilizer

I am in California and yours do better then mine. From seed too, now ready to go in ground. But chilly weather is approaching! I better wait. Agreed?

So Jerry, is your seed from a papaya purchased from the grocers? How did you start it?
My Honey usually dumps the seeds from his store bought papayas into the flowerbed and I rake it in on top. Nothing happens

It was a Mexican variety from a produce stand. I used plant mix, soil and 4 inch pots to start them, Very easy. 90% grew. I will take photos later.
