Wish me luck! I'm doing a nice and easy highlights on my hair :o I haven't done anything like this since my early 20ies and I know not what I'm doing. But oh well. Figure if it looks real bad I have time to get it cut off before my trip. Right?  ::) :D

At least you're excited about your trip!  You should look fine.  If you don't like it couldn't you use the hair color that eventually washes out to cover any dislikes?

Now you will have take photos in the Big Apple!

Well I just shampooed it. I'm not hatting it but it's not real great yet either! Maybe when it drys it will look better? Or better yet maybe I should just go let my hairdressor do it? I'm just not wantting to spend $50 bucks on my hair, then realize I don't like it hilighted? We'll see!

Thank you Esther, I need all the words of incouragement I can get these days. It doesent look bad at all. This am when I fixed my hair it was very suttell. I didn't leave it in  long enough for it to get real light. I have med Brown hair so the highlights just gives it a very soft look. My friends didn't think I had enough gray to make a differance or bother me and had sugested the highlights. They thought it looked good. And your right it did make me feel better? Don't know about the looking better tho lol

On brown hair, subtle is best anyway I think. Otherwise it would look striped and that wouldn't be good. One thing, you are learning by trying and next time you'll feel more at ease when you do it. Now what are you going to spend the money on that you saved? LOL

I bet it looks great.  A neat trick my hair dresser does now to mine, is highlight the underside.  When I curl and fix it, its highlighted all over.  This allows your roots to grow out and not be noticed.  I love it, my hair grows so fast anyway.

Hi Kim. I'll bet that does look good! I have no curl tho, only some waves, so where I highlighted over some of the waves it looks cool where it follows the wave around and down.
