All I can say is that if I'm lucky, some year I'll get to see it.

Thanks for the pics. Just love that hibiscus! Would it be hardy in zone 5?

Thanks John, Steve and Joann! :)

Joann, yes, it is hardy zone 4-9. 8)

Would like to add comment in response to the website info above: No Jap. Beetles on mine, even though they were on everything else. Also, doesn't flop like the big hardy hibiscus with the green leaves. It's a very sturdy, windproof and rainproof plant (Needs full sun!). Only gets about 3-4 feet tall, almost as wide. Can be grown in wet soil, but not submerged. Looks VERY nice when not in bloom, very 'giant coleus' looking. Does not look 'weedy' like its green leafed cousin.

Can't wait for mine to be full grown! :)

Peace to all  ... Joyce

Absolutely stunning pics!

I've had a hardy white Hibiscus for years, and funny enough the Japanese beetles totally consumed it this year.  They never bothered it much in the past, but we had a bad year with those darn beetles this year.  They've even been eating my geraniums, which they never bothered before.
