I'm excited to say
« on: November 08, 2007, 08:16:01 AM »
that Braeden's immunity counts have hit bottom and are sloooooowly on their way up, meaning the tranplant has taken hold (I can't think of the right word). Ian said that he was sickened/saddened Saturday when he saw his little brother through the window of his room at the hospital. He described Braeden's red eyes, swollen face and drooling lips. He said that Braeden cried when he saw them. I suspect he wanted to be with his brother and sister and cried when he couldn't.

I was excited to see Kevin and Dawn's brother in law installing new laminate flooring in their living room yesterday. He talked to the supplier about the reason this is being installed and they gave him the materials for .30 a square foot cheaper than the normal "at cost" price. COOL!! They are doing all the upstairs except the bedrooms. Hopefully that will be a cleaner environment than the old carpet. That may cut back on what few allergy problems they have too.

Wonderful news. Hope Braeden's continue to climb and he starts to feel better. The new floors will be easier to keep clean too.

Great news Esther!
I cannot imagine how heartbreaking it would be to watch a child go through this.

That is such good news all around!  How are those awful sores of his, any better?  Braeden has a permanent spot in my prayers.

My 3 year old had hernia surgery this morning (he's home now, and fine).  The hernia was a few inches above his belly button; when I first noticed the little bulge about a month ago all I could think about was Braeden, I remembered the pic you had shared of his tummy.

Your good news made me feel happy.  I am so glad to hear about your grandson.  The kindness of others is always so special and so appreciated, isn't it, especially at a time like this.  Please continue to bring us good news.  It gives everyone another thing to be thankful for with this up coming holiday.  I am so happy for you Esther.       @O@

The sores are still there but the morphine dose has lesssoned twice so to me that means his pain is less. When they were talking to the doctors just prior to this series of treatments, they had just found out the appointments were being set back a week because they had discovered a sinus infection. So Dawn asked if he would be home for Thanksgiving. They were told it wasn't likely. But now she has her hopes up seeing his numbers seem to be going up so quickly. They have to get those sores healed up so he will be able to take food and meds by mouth. Then they'll unhook the IV feeding. So there's a lot of things have to get in line before he can go home.
