Redirect your prayers please
« on: November 13, 2007, 12:00:16 PM »
Kevin just called and told me that Braeden has C-dif. I remember when my dad had it a couple of times when he was in the hospital. It's a pretty bad diarrhea. So I suspect he'll not be coming home this weekend after all.

I'm so sorry.  :( Just when it looked like he was really improving.  I'll add more prayers that he recovers quickly from this temporary setback.   o(:-)

Kevin said tonight that Braeden was running around in his room, chasing toy cars across the floor all happy and almost normal. He did say that anything that crosses him sets him to crying like it is the end of the world. I think he is just touchy from all the pain and suffering.

So maybe I jumped the gun when I jumped the gun. I hope so. I just knew that when my dad had C-diff, it set him back a lot and this scared me for Braeden.

The numbers still are doing well in all the areas that they track. Kevin said that the doctor is VERY PLEASED with the results of the treatments. That sounds good, don't you think? I almost don't dare let myself be encouraged.

You just never know... kids are so resilient that I bet he still makes it home. As always, he and all your family are in my thoughts.

Very glad to hear Braeden is responding well.  It's good to see him looking so bright eyed and able to enjoy playing with his toys.  emm

Glad it wasn't a major setback.  He looks good in his pic, so cute.

I was excited to learn that someone has turned their names in to Make a Wish Foundation. We have no idea how it works or if they have any chance to get to be picked to go, but he hope so.

Braeden is doing better and better and they hope to be home for Thanksgiving.

My DH and his son have been scrambling putting up drywall this week. They finished the family room which is huge and will do a little spare bedroom tomorrow. I have been sanding, steelwooling, polyurethaning, painting, and painting, and then I painted. Well I scrubbed some too and cooked meals and ran kids hither and thither. We have the 12 year old's downstairs bedroom almost done. Hopefully tomorrow it'll be done. Then we'll move him down there and clean and disinfect his old room. Braeden will then be able to have his own room for the first time in his long 2 years.

Braeden is an amazing little boy. It's wonderful to hear he's doing so well. The whole family will really enjoy all the renovations too. It's so nice to have family to fall back on in times of need. Good job! I hope the little guy is home soon.

I just talked to Dawn and she still isn't sure when they can come home. She was aiming for last weekend but then he got the C dif. His numbers are climbing and holding stable very well so that is good. The C dif is under control. Now the aim is to get him to eat and take the meds by mouth before he'll be released. So her dream is to be home for Thanksgiving. But if not, Thanksgiving will be postponed 'til they come home.
