Any Ina Garten/Barefoot Contessa fans here?
« on: December 01, 2007, 12:02:35 PM »
Ina Garten was in Dallas Friday signing books at my favorite market--Central Market. I was lucky enough to get in and get two books signed! Too bad she wasn't looking at the camera!

Lucky you!  I loved watching her show on Food TV (haven't watched her since we decided not to have cable  :( ).  I've used many of her recipes off the website.

I am an Ina fan. I have been watching Barefoot Contessa for a few years now and really like her series. If I ever make it to the Hampton's, I will be looking her up.

Cheers,

Alton Brown of Good Eats is my #1 favorite!  I would like to get my kitchen aid painted with flames like his, LOL!!!

Ina has the most beautiful kitchen, house, and garden though!

I like most of them, especially Alton and Ina, although we're not crazy about Giada, we don't like Italian food.  Although I think my dh does like to just look at her.   ::)

The one cook on FoodTV that no one we know can stand is Rachael, sorry, we like to watch her just for the laughs.   ;D

I'm not a huge Ina Garten fan but that is because I'm just not that fond of Italian food.
I saw Giada on the Today show this morning, is she pregnant? I only saw about ten seconds of it.

My favorites are Paula Deen, Alton Brown, Emeril, Tyler Florence and Rachel Ray.

I forgot, I like Tyler Florence too.  The people who cook like real people are the ones I enjoy watching.  Hyper personalities tucker me out real fast (Rachel Ray).  Paula Dean is fun too.  But slick productions like Ina's and Giada's glue me to the screen.

I'm not a huge Ina Garten fan but that is because I'm just not that fond of Italian food.

Ina Garten isn't Italian or an Italian-style chef, which is one of the reasons I like her, I don't like Italian food, either.  She has a leaning towards French foods.  And she uses a LOT of butter and cream.   ;D  If you thought she cooked Italian you should give her show another try.  Rachael attempts to cook more Italian than Ina does, from what I've seen.

Everyday Italian ends with Giada and her girlfriends eating in her garden.  All well dressed west siders.  The other day there was Mariel Hemmingway munching away.  I love that it was not even mentioned.  So cool.
Yeah to Tyler Florence too, the ladies love him!
