Looks like the lovely Mrs. Jerry was presented with the Spruce Goose!  Nice photos!

Looks like Kaz took the fine sunshine with her  :(

Glad the weather cooperated and that Kaz was able to spend the day with forum friends. Wish I could have flown down to join you.

My family and friends are used to me meeting "internet pond friends" but they were concerned the first time when I was meeting MikeW, Mikey and others no longer with our group at a bar near Disneyland.....

Krista!  That's right!  I'm sorry but I forgot all about you and the family coming down here.  How did it go?  Did you manage to get to Santa Monica?

no worries Mikey :) I didn't have anyone's number and didn't realize until near the end of the week that my BIL had brought his laptop so I could of come on the board. I'm sure there will be another time.

My next trip Stateside which is planned is actually to New York in May of next year :) I get to sing at Carnagie Hall :) A friend and director has been asked to conduct some of his music again and several of us are going.

Hey Krista, what Mike said!
Steve, thanks, but I am a mere grunt in this business.  I go to the high desert (Palmdale) for a SAG film tomorrow.   It's called "Charlie Valentine"

Low pay. but all the food you want!  A new diet Monday!
I will try to attach a photo here.  This diner/motel is used only for movies.

I think I've seen that diner in several movies.  Looks very familiar.

I guess this should be a new post.  I think we hijacked our own thread?
I did the movie bit today. I know this "Holywood stuff" is of interest to many,  Lots of food, little work.  When they did use us (me and 4 others)it took a half hour.  The scene is in a run down saloon.  No lines :'(  All i did was walk through the bar with a cowboy hat.  Oh well, I met some nice people and made a few contacts.
Here are a few photos from the "High Desert"  It is around 3000 feet.  Snow on the peaks.  About 50 minutes from home, but a very different climate.

Looks like I need to reorganize photos, will do it tomorrow, sorrry :'(
Pic 1. snow and Joshua tree, native to high desert.
2.  the "fake" diner / motel, used only for film industry and I am sure you have seen it.  A real crummy joint!
3 Caterer Jon, setting up breakfast.  He really puts out big variety. As Greg can tell you, these guys really work hard!  Long hours as well.

Hmmm Jerry - Tablecloths? Omelette station? Fresh fruit? What kind of low budget movie is this?

Nor do I see Bloody Marys - how do they expect you to act in a saloon while sober?

Sounds like you have fun though.

Cheers,

Mike

Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?

Mike W.  They had another caterer come in and serve lunch.  Excellent too. o(:-)
The only negative was that every battery I own died  that day, including my Wife's cell.  Yes, I needed a jump start to go home.
If there were any big names in the film, I didn't see them.
This one was for money, but it amazes me that I have to compete to work free.  I auditioned for a student film and was told we "we will let you know if we pick you."  I was getting down since I had no call and it was 11:00 pm  Then my mail said, "we picked you."  I am so curious how many auditioned?  Was I the only one? >:(-
