Happy Lunar New Year!! Are you a RAT?!?!?
« on: February 07, 2008, 07:11:31 PM »
@O@ This year of the lunar calendar is the Year of the Rat.  I have one in my home...my son!   ;D

I found this for those born in the year of the Rat:
Being the year of the Rat, it’s action time for ambitious rodents. Rats will be tempted to cheat in both love and business to bring quick successes in 2008, however those that stay out of the sewer and show commitment will reap the rewards. Those that stay loyal will find themselves surrounded with friends, wealth and happiness.

Hopefully my son will stay out of the sewer!

If I remember the placemat at the Chinese restaurant I used to eat at correctly, I am a rat. Never been tempted to cheat at business though.

Here ya go Dragon. (don't blame me for the bad stuff, I just googled it)

Dragon (Yang, 1st Trine, Fixed Element Wood): Magnanimous, stately, vigorous, strong, self-assured, proud, noble, direct, dignified, zealous, fiery, passionate, decisive, pioneering, ambitious, generous, loyal. Can be arrogant, imperious, tyrannical, demanding, eccentric, grandiloquent and extremely bombastic, prejudiced, dogmatic, over-bearing, violent, impetuous, brash.

I'm a Sheep.

Sheep (Yin, 4th Trine, Fixed Element Fire): Righteous, sincere, sympathetic, mild-mannered, shy, artistic, creative, gentle, compassionate, understanding, mothering, determined, peaceful, generous, seeks security. Can be moody, indecisive, over-passive, worrier, pessimistic, over-sensitive, complainer.

Heres the link, look at your month.

I've heard of this stuff but never looked it up.

I'm a rooster. Most of what it says fits but there are a few things that don't at all.

People born in the year of the Rooster are usually very observant. They are brave, resilient and tenacious but can also be quite self-absorbed, pretentious, and romantic    Most of the time, they are very accurate and precise with their observation.

These people certainly love to find themselves in the spotlight, they love entertaining friends and adore meeting new people, and even unexpected and uncertain circumstances are not a barrier for them.

It is almost impossible to find someone born in this year looking dowdy or untidy. The fact is that these people are usually the best dressed and groomed of all other people. They are actively interested in clothes, colours, and accessories, and are usually very critical of their own appearance as well as of the appearance of those around them. People born in the year of the Rooster like to be noticed and flattered. Such a person might dress a little flashy with this in mind, but in his heart, he/she is completely conservative. Roosters always appear attractive and beautifully turned out. They are sociable and love to receive attention. Others may criticize them for being exhibitionists but the fact that they are compassionate, wise, and have a brave nature which comes to the fore when others need their help, makes up for that deficiency.

It is difficult for these people to accept advice because of their strong independent spirit. These people are often confident in their own judgement and choices. There are times when these people may be too straight-forward which can cause some problems in relationships with others. So it would be wise sometimes not to express their opinions in order to keep the peace. Roosters can drive people away with their need to be right if they cannot relax and let the other person have a say.

Ideal Rooster jobs: Sales person, Restaurant owner, Artist, Hairdresser, Public relations officer, Farmer, Athlete, Teacher, Waiter, Journalist, Travel writer, Dentist, Surgeon, Soldier, Fireman, Security guard, Police officer.[citation needed]

The stuff in the red if off some. I don't like to be up front in the spotlight. In fact am scared to death of it. And the business of being not caught messy is a laugh. Right now I'm in a paint stained navy sweat shirt and stretched out navy sweat pants. If you come to my house in the summer, you'll be likely to find me smeared with pond muck and sweaty, wearing stained ill fitting clothes. But when I go out, whether to the grocery store or church, I like to dress appropriately and have things match and fit correctly.

The rest fits pretty well. So odd. Gonna look up DH's now.

Rooster Rule!  Esther I'm a rooster too!

To be a Rat you had to have been born in these years: 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, or 2008!

Just came back from Las Vegas, celebrating the New Year and took a few shots of casino celebration displays.  Enjoy!

Er...Uh   three bodies of water at 500 gallons each, five with 800 gallons each, three with 1000 gallons each, three with 2000 gallons each, one with 8000 gallons and one with 11000 gallons, all of which have fliters that I clean regularly.  I spend a good deal of my retirement cleaning fish toilets and you think it would be a good idea  if this Rat would stay out of the sewer??!!??    I think I prefer to continue thinking of myself as a Leo with his Sun rising in the house of Leo, though just as laden with the snares of life, it has a better ring to it.  ::)

I'm a sheep, never new there was a distinction of types.  On the site I was a wood sheep, and remarkably most of what I read seems to fit me, down to the color green which is my favorite.  I'll have to read more, thanks Bullfrog for the link.
